These few Tales from E.A. Poe are among his best. Only “Murders in the Rue Morgue” is, in my unworthy opinion, a weaker and flawed work. Far more significant is “The Tell-Tale Heart,” an absolute masterpiece! This was my 2nd Kindle in Motion” ebook, and I remain mostly unimpressed by the format, primarily because there are so few illustrations, and the animation is limited. (Since my previous K.I.M. ebook, I have considered how much the file size would be increased by more animation. That would be a problem as things stand now.). What illustrations there are, however, are nearly all quite satisfying, the work of M.S. Corley.

Expecting it to be better. Didn't like all the stories. Just liked the ones I was familiar with.
This has to be the most brilliant idea that anyone has ever put forward for the .
When I found this book I was captivated and had to read it. I'm a long time fan of Poe's works and to see them illustrates here was beyond amazing for me.
Definitely dark - like Poe. Very good to get caught up on EAP. Had not read anything by him - repeating much of what had been read many years ago. A real treat, but you have to be ready for his outlandish - maybe even out-of-the-world way of telling his stories. Definitely recommend it.
Anyone else seeing errors in this book?! Cars for ears ... Donjon for dungeon (twice) ... Is this really what Poe wrote?!
Definitely different. It gave me chills to read The Pit and the Pendulum and watch the pendulum swing, back and forth. To see the beating of the heart that only he can hear under the floorboards
I am not reviewing the writings of Edgar Allen Poe but rather the " in Motion" format. I had never heard of this but was intrigued enough to purchase the book. This format contains subtle animations embedded within the illustrations throughout the book that can be turned on/off at any time. It adds a fun element to the stories without being distracting. I think that this format would work especially well in children's books, though adults would likely appreciate it too. The in Motion format has a lot of potential and I hope to see more titles in the future.
