Michael's been a prostitute since he was fourteen. The money's good, for sure, but that isn't really why he does it. Then, two new customers come into his life and he begins to realize nothing will ever be the same again ....

5-stars for December Nolan's Restraint.For me, this was one the type of novel that I had to stick with for a period of time before I grasped the significance of the characters and the roles they played within the story. As I became captivated with the drama and I looked forward to seeing how the story would resolve itself in the end.
I recommend Restraint to readers who enjoy longer novels that take time in developing characters and playing them off one another. Though I find the description of sexual activity explicit, I would not classify it as erotica. December Nolan provides a convincing description and insight as to why Michael has chosen to be a prostitute and why he enjoys his chosen profession. Though the answer seems apparent, there is more to it that even he understands.
This is the second novel by December Nolan's that I have read. I hope to see more novels by December Nolan as I would like to read more of his works.
